William Taylor has a long and has distinguished career in the building industry as a brick mason. He been a brick mason since 1987 and worked as a journeyman bricklayer for the Architect of the Capitol for nine years. He a certified tradesman and is certified to teach masonry by the District of Columbia. Mr. Taylor was a masonry instructor at the University of the District of Columbia for seven years. He has served with distinction on Boards of Directors and as a trustee on the following Boards and committees: Maryland State Apprenticeship Council, Southern Area Youth Services, Inc., the Prince George’s Workforce Services Corporation, BAC Local #1 – Apprenticeship and Training Fund, Foundation of Automotive and Construction Technology for Students, Prince George’s County Public Schools, and the Marble Tile and Terrazzo Workers Health and Welfare Fund. He is a former trainer in the Construction Outreach Program, U.S. Department of Labor – Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Mr. Taylor is President and Founder of the Coalition for Public Safety Training in Schools, Inc.
