Coalition for Public Safety Training in Schools, Inc. (CPSTS) is a nonprofit organization based in Oxon Hill, Maryland, dedicated to educating, advocating, and fostering public safety and career technical training in schools while supporting workforce development for the local community.

Mission and Objectives

CPSTS’s mission is to empower Maryland’s youth by providing positive youth development, career and technical skills training, and linking students with public safety career opportunities

• Advocating for training and employment opportunities in public safety.
• Educating students and parents about public safety careers.
• Promoting the creation of public safety academies in Prince George’s County.
• Mentoring students and offering real-world experiences.
• Providing scholarships for certifications, driver’s education, physical training, uniforms, tools, volunteer opportunities, and field trips.

Target Audience

CPSTS serves students in grades 9–12 and high school graduates, offering them guidance, resources, and connections to public safety careers

Programs and Benefits

Driver’s Education Scholarship Program — supports students in earning a Maryland driver’s license, a prerequisite for many public safety jobs

Mentoring and Career Exploration — connects students with public safety agencies and provides awareness of viable career paths
